COLLI EUGANEI DOC – MERLOT

Merlot is a variety whose name derives from the blackbird’s particular fondness for its berries; it originates from the Gironde, in south-western France. In Italy and in the Veneto region it has found ideal environmental conditions since the end of the 19th century and in the Euganean Hills it has become the most loved and widespread grape.
Tasting notes

Bright ruby red in colour, it gives us herbaceous, fruity and floral notes on the nose. Black tea, cut grass, morello cherry and red fruits, a delicate rose and violet emerge and follow one another pleasantly. The palate offers a clean, dry and fresh taste.

Pairing

The ideal pairing is as an aperitif with medium-aged cheeses and sliced meats in general. Pleasant with bigoli al ragù, ‘rich Paduan’ risotto, roast chicken and pork.
