MOSCATO VENETO IGT – “Aromatico”

Pianzio Aromatico for our winery was born as a reinterpretation of the best known and noblest vine of the Euganean Hills, ‘Moscato’. Very demanding in terms of soil and climate, it prefers marly soils rich in limestone; in fact, it finds its best positions on the sunniest slopes to the east of the Pianzio Valley.
Designed as a great wine, also for long ageing. Its evolution is interesting, thanks to which the fresher and more citrusy scents give way to important soft and balsamic notes.
Tasting notes

The pale and brilliant straw yellow colour does not reveal the complexity that this wine reserves on the nose.
Intense, fine and elegant, it immediately reveals the soul of the grapes from which it is made.
The nose releases aromatic and tropical fruit notes, with hints of lychee, passion fruit and a delicate pineapple. This is followed by hints of citrus fruit, from clementine to grapefruit, and ripe apricot and yellow peach. Floral notes of wisteria and rose are also important. Slight mineral hints at the end.
A decidedly fresh and complex nose, which is also consistently repeated on the palate. The taste is decidedly dry and soft, with good persistence.

A multifaceted wine, pleasant both as a meal and as an aperitif.

Pairing

The complexity and variety of aromas leave room for pairing with seasonal dishes such as cream soups and pumpkin risottos or with local white asparagus.

Not only that, it loves white meats and raw fish, in tartare version especially if accompanied by exotic fruit dressing.

Interesting to try with sushi – perhaps with nighiri and sashimi of sea bass or salmon – or with oriental dishes characterised by spiciness and aromaticity.
